Looking back 2023 - the year's glass exhibition at Nøstetangen Museum
Here was the permanent collection in 2023, which shows glass from Nøstetangen, as well as from the successors Hurdal, Gjøvik and Hadeland glass works - a journey through Norwegian glass history of almost 300 years. Later studio glass cabins are also represented.
A reconstruction of Nøstetangen Glasværk with all buildings as they looked at the time the works were in operation.
A big thank you to Jan Erik Skretteberg, Bent Ek and Lars-Jacob Hvinding Haug who made this possible.
The films "Et flunkende Eventyr" and "Den mystical Kôhler" were also presented.
The Nøstetangen Center Foundation collaborated in 2023 with the Vestfossen Art Laboratory, where curator Randi Gaustad assisted with the exhibition Nøstetangen Glass Works (1741-1777) At the mouth of Vestfosselva. Here were parts of an absolutely fantastic glass collection, which was mainly made at the Nøstetangen Glasværk 270 years ago shown.
Nøstetangen has a central place in the National Museum
The glass collections Nøstetangen-Hurdal have been given a very central place at the National Museum, and we recommend everyone a trip there.
